California cars offer luxury seating and "social" seating areas with tables on both levels.
There are convenient storage areas for carry-on luggage either above the seats or at the end of each car.
Electrical outlets are available on both levels of the train. Computers and other personal electronic devices can be safely plugged in to these surge-protected outlets.
The lower level offers large restrooms that are fully wheelchair accessible to passengers. There are spaces to park wheelchairs on the lower level. Moveable armrests on the seats allow easy transfer to and from wheelchairs.
Wheelchair passengers should request assistance from the conductor when boarding. Each car has two on-board lifts to assist passengers with reduced mobility. Also, if the passenger is traveling alone and needs assistance in purchasing food from the Cafe Car, he/she may ask the conductor for help. See Amtrak's accessibility page for more information.
Each California car has a bicycle storage unit that holds up to three bicycles. Bungee cords are recommended to assist in properly securing bicycles on the train.
