In observance of Independence Day, the Capitol Corridor intercity passenger rail service will operate regularly scheduled Weekend/Holiday service on Saturday, July 4, 2009.
On Friday, July 3, Capitol Corridor will also run on its regular weekday schedule.
This Saturday, July 4th, San Francisco will be hosting fireworks and festivities to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. This will close down part of the Embarcadero and affect the Ferry Building (SFC) and Pier 39 Motorcoach stops from approximately 7pm until midnight.
During this time, the Ferry Building (SFC) stop will be moved to temporary location at Steuart and Mission Streets. Motorcoach buses will pick up at Mission and Steuart Streets, one block west of the current Ferry Building stop. Station agents from the Ferry Building station will be available to assist passengers with this transition.
Service to the Pier 39 (SFW) stop will be temporarily suspended during this time. There will be no service to this location from 7pm until midnight.
Sacramento Regional Transit's decision to eliminate free transfers does not affect Capitol Corridor's partnership with Sac RT in our popular Transit Transfer program. The Sac RT board action pertains only to transfers within the Sac RT system. Sac RT will continue to accept Capitol Corridor Transit Transfers for travel aboard buses and light rail.

Beginning May 11th, the motorcoach bus connecting to train 553 from Reno to Sacramento will not stop at Colfax to pick up passengers. This motorcoach thruway bus (scheduled to pick up in Colfax at 6:25pm) will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
The motorcoach bus connecting to train 553 from Reno to Sacramento will make all other scheduled stops at Auburn, Rocklin and Roseville, arriving in Sacramento at 8:55pm.

The California State Rail Plan 2007-08 to 2017-18 (Plan) is now available on-line at:
http://dot.ca.gov/rail/go/dor/division-of-rail-reports/index.cfm. The Department prepared the Plan as an examination of passenger and freight rail transportation in the State, in accordance with Section 14036 of the Government Code.
The passenger element of the Plan reviews the current operations of the three State-supported intercity rail passenger routes (Pacific Surfliner, San Joaquin and Capitol Corridor). It also outlines ten-year plans for operations, marketing, and capital improvements, and ten-year route objectives. It also looks at high-speed and maglev programs in the State as well as the four commuter services.
The freight section of the Plan provides an overview of the State freight rail system. It discusses policy issues, funding programs, environmental issues and new freight technology. It also examines freight issues including international trade growth, trends in intermodal traffic and short-line capabilities and needs.
If you have any questions or comments on the Plan please submit them via E-mail to: california_state_rail_plan_-_comments@dot.ca.gov. Comments will be considered for inclusion in the 2009-10 to 2019-20 edition of the Plan which is now under development.
