New Capitol Corridor Schedule provides additional service between Oakland and Sacramento

Oakland, CA - The Capitol Corridor begins a revamped train schedule that provides an additional round trip between Oakland and Sacramento. With this change, the Capitol Corridor now offers twenty trains each weekday between the Bay Area and the State Capitol.

The updated timetables are available now at Capitol Corridor train stations and other agencies, including visitor's bureaus, hotels, universities, and regional transit groups. The new schedules are also available online at the Capitol Corridor website: http://www.amtrakcapitols.com/

Highlights of the new schedule:

• 20-weekday trips and 18 weekend trips between Sacramento and Oakland
  • New train route #518 departing Oakland at 5:25 AM arriving in Sacramento at 7:35 AM
  • New train route #549 departing Sacramento at 6:40 PM arriving in Oakland 8:50 PM (last departure from Sacramento remains at 8:10pm, as train #551)
• Train #738 with a 25 minute earlier weekend arrival in Auburn.
