Capitol Corridor Offers Free-Bee

Get your coffee and morning paper on the train

Oakland, CA - Train riders are "buzzing" about the latest amenity on-board Capitol Corridor trains. Free copies of the Sacramento Bee will now be offered each weekday morning on trains originating in Sacramento, compliments of the Capitol Corridor.

Passengers can get their breakfast and coffee from the train's Café Car, return to their seats and read the morning paper as they head towards the Bay Area and Silicon Valley for work or pleasure.

A trial run of the program was conducted during the summer months on the Capitol Corridor and the response was excellent. According to Priscilla Kalugdan, Capitol Corridor Marketing Manager, "Our customers take the train as a relaxing and enjoyable alternative to driving. This is just one more way that we can improve their trip on the train."

Capitol Corridor offers VIP weekend escape in San Francisco

Oakland, CA - Capitol Corridor is proud to announce a new partnership with San Francisco Shopping Centre and the Renaissance Parc 55 hotel. For the month of December, passengers can take Capitol Corridor to San Francisco for holiday shopping discounts and leave all of the hassles of driving behind this holiday season.

Once passengers arrive in San Francisco via Amtrak deluxe motorcoach, they can present their Amtrak Capitol Corridor train ticket to the San Francisco Shopping Centre information desk and receive an exclusive VIP Guest Card good for discounts at stores like Nordstrom, Nine West and Godiva Chocolatier.

If passengers are too tired to make the return trip that day, they can stay the night at the Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel across the street from the shopping center at a special Amtrak discount rate of $109 per night or board Amtrak's Capitol Corridor for a relaxing trip home.
