Connect with Nature Via the Capitol Corridor

April 9, 2019

Post updated March 25, 2020.

The Capitol Corridor may connect Northern California’s most vibrant cities and towns, but did you know lush green nature alongside fresh bodies of water stirring with wildlife can be experienced just steps from some of our stations? Fortunately, state- and federally- protected nature reserves keep many vulnerable habitats a priority amidst all the surrounding urban development. Hop on board the Capitol Corridor for an outdoor adventure that will get you up close and personal with some of the awe-inspiring ecosystems along our route, listed here from south to north.

Volunteer Along the Capitol Corridor

March 30, 2018

While the right time to give back is anytime, April is National Volunteer Month, which amplifies the call to do good. Itโ€™s a welcome reminder that whether or not you can fund a nonprofit mission with your dollars, the help you can offer by clocking in hours and energy is priceless.

Traveling to organizations dedicated to making a difference gets even easier by choosing those worthy causes conveniently located along the Capitol Corridor route. Hop on and hop off to volunteer at one of the following organizations from Sacramento to San Jose, each in quick walking distance from a Capitol Corridor station.
