Changes to Parking at Richmond and Emeryville Stations
Richmond
Starting this Saturday, April 11, the 35 free outdoor Capitol Corridor parking spaces at the Richmond station will be permanently closed and relocated to the second floor of the BART parking garage. The spaces will remain free for Capitol Corridor and Amtrak passengers until the beginning of May, when they will be available at the rate of $2.50 per day. To avoid receiving a citation, Capitol Corridor passengers must leave a copy of their train tickets on the dashboard of their car. Read more.
Emeryville
By early May 2015, the outdoor parking at the Emeryville station will move temporarily to a nearby garage during the construction of a new office building and parking structure on the site of the current parking lot used by daily riders. Details are still in development, and we will provide more information when it becomes available.
Multi-Ride Tickets Now Available on Amtrak Mobile Site
Buy multi-ride tickets on the go! Amtrak’s mobile site now has an option to purchase 10-ride and monthly tickets for your travel on Capitol Corridor. When visiting Amtrak’s site on your mobile web browser, select “Buy Tickets” and click the tab for multi-ride. Multi-ride tickets are not yet available on the Amtrak app, so be sure to use your mobile web browser when purchasing these tickets.
Upcoming Events: Get There on Capitol Corridor and Celebrate Earth Day!
Looking for fun things to do in the upcoming weeks? Next Saturday, April 18, head over to U.C. Davis for the 101st Picnic Day—a fun family event complete with parades, adorable dachshund races, and even cow milking!
For the 21 and older crowd, peruse the local brews and foods at the Bay Area Craft Beer Festival from noon to 4 p.m. in downtown Martinez.
Earth Day is also coming up, and there will be several events celebrating the environment. Learn more about wildlife and how to help protect their habitat at the Oakland Zoo on Saturday, April 18, for their annual Earth Day event, Party for the Planet. You can get to the zoo by taking the Capitol Corridor train to the Oakland Coliseum and connecting with AC Transit’s bus route 46, which runs hourly weekend service.
On Sunday, April 19, Sacramento will be celebrating Earth Day at Southside Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with great entertainment, activities, and cuisine.
Lastly, be sure to check out BART’s 5th annual Blue Sky Festival on Wednesday, April 22 at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco for eco-themed activities and prizes! Did you know you can earn Amtrak Guest Rewards points just by riding the train? On Capitol Corridor, you earn 100 points for every trip segment you take, which can really add up if you’re a frequent rider. Here are some ways to rack up points even faster:
- Double Days: When you ride now through May 16, 2015, you can earn double the points! Join Amtrak Guest Rewards now, and you’ll automatically be registered for Double Days. If you’re already a member, you still need to register with the Double Days promotion in order to earn double points.
- Refer a Friend: When you refer a someone to Amtrak Guest Rewards, you and your friend could earn 500 points each – now that’s the way to build up your account and make your friends happy!
- Buy or Trade Points: Need more points for your next trip? You can give your balance a boost by buying, trading, sharing, or transferring points. Learn more about how to increase your point balance.
