New Weekend Train Schedule Coming July 28 with Service to Levi’s® Stadium

Cappy at Stadium

Cappy enjoys a trip to the stadium.

Capitol Corridor will introduce a new and improved weekend train schedule on Monday, July 28, and we think football fans will be very happy! The new schedule was designed in part to accommodate events at the new Levi’s Stadium so fans can get there before kick-off and see the whole game. Capitol Corridor stops at the Santa Clara/Great America station, and it’s a quick walk to the stadium entrance. Get ready for the first pre-season game on Sunday, August 17 and check out the Levi’s Stadium event schedule.

In addition to the new weekend train schedule, there will be more efficient connecting bus service between San Francisco and Emeryville, and we’re happy to report that the San Francisco Financial District/Hyatt bus stop will be re-opened. Read about the new schedule.

Learn More About Plans to Expand Service Between Sacramento and Roseville

Capitol Corridor, Union Pacific Railroad, the cities of Sacramento and Roseville, and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA) are currently working to identify and design a third track between Sacramento and Roseville in order to expand service from one to 10 round trips per day. The project is officially in the environmental review process, and there will be an opportunity for Capitol Corridor passengers to learn more about and provide input on the project this week at two onboard meetings, most likely in the café car. The first will be held on Wednesday, July 23 on Train 536, and the second will be on Thursday, July 24 on Train 529. There will be additional opportunities for public input in fall 2014 and beyond.
