Capitol Corridor Celebrates Bike to Work Day

Bike Month

Join us as we celebrate Bike to Work Day! On Thursday, May 12, Capitol Corridor will demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the biking community at Bike to Work Day events on board our trains and along the route. We’ll be hosting a special Bike to Work Day “Cappy Hour” on board all trains from 4 to 8pm, and Capitol Corridor staff will have a table at the annual Capitol Bike Fest in Sacramento from 11am to 1pm. For more details on our Bike to Work Day festivities, read our post on the Get on Board blog.

RocketBoat Season Opening and Giveaway

RocketBoat

With summer fast approaching, RocketBoat is now open for the season at PIER 39 in San Francisco! From May through October, RocketBoat offers the wildest and fastest thrill ride on the San Francisco Bay, featuring amazing views and a classic Rock and Roll soundtrack. To kick off the season, we’re giving away two sets of four tickets for a 30-minute ride on RocketBoat! Visit our Facebook page before 5pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, for your chance to win.

To get to RocketBoat, take our dedicated connecting bus from Emeryville to PIER 39. Be advised that trips to this stop are now limited as a result of the changes to the Route 99 bus schedule that went into effect on May 1. You can also take BART to the Embarcadero Station, and then hop on the Muni F line at the Ferry Building for a direct trip to the PIER 39 Marina.

Rider Tip: Keep Your Bike Safe and Secure

Bikes on Board

In the spirit of Bike to Work Day, we’d like to highlight some general tips and guidelines for bringing bicycles on board. To ensure the safety of your bike and fellow riders, please secure and lock your bike in the storage area of our designated bike cars, or on the bike racks on the lower level of other cars. If these storage areas are full, ask a crew member where to place and secure your bike so that it won’t block aisles or walkways. In addition, there are bike racks available for storage at most of our stations, plus BikeLink eLockers at five stations: Suisun/Fairfield, Richmond, Berkeley, Oakland Coliseum, and Fremont. For more information on bringing bikes on the train and storing them on board and at stations, visit the Bikes on Board page of our website.
