Update on September 23, 2014: Construction work will be complete by Tuesday, September 23, and regular parking will resume.

Starting Tuesday, September 8, and lasting for approximately two weeks, the City of Sacramento and the Sacramento Metropolitan Utility District will be installing conduit under current parking spaces along the front of the Sacramento Station to eventually provide power to electric vehicle charging stations. During the two-week period, work will be conducted from 5:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Plates will be placed over the portion of the affected parking spaces to allow for day parking in these spots; however, parked vehicles in spaces covered with plates will need to be removed from the space by 5:30 p.m. to prevent being towed.

During this work period, passengers may park their car at theOld Sacramento Garagefor a special day rate of $4/day. This garage can be reached by walking one block west from the intersection of 4th and I streets in front of the depot to the garage entrance at 3rd and I streets.
