SF Ticket Office Relocating to Transbay Temporary Terminal and Bus Route 99 Schedule Changes on March 1, 2015

Philip Krayna News Archive, Service Alerts

Effective Sunday, March 1, Amtrak’s San Francisco Ferry Building bus stop and ticket office will be closed permanently and relocated to the Transbay Temporary Terminal (in the shared space with Greyhound). On Saturday, February 28, all scheduled buses will arrive at and depart from the Ferry Building for the last time; the ticket office will close at its regular time, 10:30 p.m., and the lobby/waiting area will close at approximately 10:45 p.m. Service at the Transbay Temporary Terminal, including the new ticket office, will begin on March 1.

Also effective March 1, there will be minor schedule changes (new schedule available soon) on Bus 99 between Emeryville and San Francisco and on Train 743 from Sacramento to San Jose.

The Transbay Temporary Terminal is located at Folsom and Beale approximately half a mile south of the Ferry building. The entrance to the facility is on Folsom Street between Main and Beale streets:

Transbay Temporary Terminal
200 Folsom Street
San Francisco, California 94105

The Transbay Temporary Terminal will be staffed by Amtrak personnel and offer all services that were available at the Ferry Building, including checked baggage, ticketing, and passenger services. The hours of operation will also remain the same.

SFbus_v9Note: All tickets issued prior to March 1 will list the Ferry Building. However, passengers traveling on or after March 1 with tickets for the Ferry Building will use the Transbay Temporary Terminal.

Security Check
Upon entering the facility, passengers must show their Amtrak train ticket or photo I.D. to the Greyhound Security Staff. Greyhound security will also inspect bags and wand passengers for metal contraband who enter the building. Please allow additional time arriving for this process. Capitol Corridor connecting buses will board at Bus Bays #7 and #8.

Ferry Building Option
The connecting bus stop at the Hyatt Hotel (5 Embarcadero Center) is conveniently located two blocks west of the Ferry Building station. All trains will have a bus connection at the Hyatt effective March 1.

New Connecting Bus Schedules Coming Soon
All other San Francisco bus stops will remain at their present locations; however, there may be small changes to bus departure and arrival times due to the route changes. These changes will help us minimize service disruptions caused by events taking place in downtown San Francisco. Stay tuned for the release of the new schedule prior to March 1.
