====================================================
1. Capitol Corridor monthly tickets and Placer Commuter Express
Now that Placer County Transit has added a 3rd afternoon bus to their
Placer Commuter Express service between Placer County and Sacramento,
there has been some confusion about which buses honor Capitol Corridor
monthly tickets. To clarify, Placer Commuter Express WILL NOT accept
Capitol Corridor tickets on the first afternoon departure from
Sacramento back to Placer County (bus departs Sacramento stops between
4:32pm and 4:47pm). However, Capitol Corridor monthly tickets will be
accepted on the second and third afternoon Placer Commuter Express
buses. Placer Commuter Express will begin enforcing this new policy
beginning Monday, June 18, 2007.
2. Take Capitol Corridor to the airport this summer

transit to your regular Capitol Corridor station for free using our
Transit Transfer program. Simply ask the conductor for your free
Transit Transfer pass the evening before, have it punched for the
following day, and use it to ride local transit for free. Visit the

2. Capitol Corridor ridership keeps growing!
**********************************************************************
1. New Timetable- October 29, 2007
**********************************************************************
New Capitol Corridor schedules go into effect on Monday, October 29,
2007. There are no changes to train times, but several adjustments
and changes have been made to the connecting bus schedules. The new
printed schedules will be available today, or you can visit the
Capitol Corridor website to download a copy of the new schedule.
**********************************************************************
2. Capitol Corridor ridership keeps growing!
**********************************************************************
Capitol Corridor carried more than 1.4 million passengers in FY07, a
15 percent increase over the same period last year.
"We want to attract new riders on the train and get drivers off the
highways. When we see that our ridership numbers grow every month, we
know we're accomplishing that goal," said Forrest Williams, Chair of
the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority. "For people who value how
they spend their time, the train offers a better alternative than
sitting in traffic."
CCJPA wants to thank you, our riders, for helping us reach
record-breaking ridership month after month, and year after year!
Capitol Corridor News - November 9, 2007
1. Fare Increase- Effective November 13, 2007
2. Veterans Day/ Thanksgiving Week Service
**********************************************************************
1. Fare Increase- Effective November 13, 2007
**********************************************************************
Effective November 13, there will be a 3% fare increase for all
Capitol Corridor travel. We don't like increasing fares any more than
you do, but this relatively modest increase will help supplement the
limited financial support we receive from the state budget allocation.
However, with the regular, relatively small fare increases we make,
we are able to continue to deliver a quality service to you. Our
fares, especially the multi-ride ticket prices, are more than
competitive with costs for auto travel on a cost-per-mile basis, and
we want to keep them that way. Every dollar of increased revenue is
reinvested into your service.
**********************************************************************
2. Veterans Day/ Thanksgiving Week Service
