January Track Work Project Temporary Schedule in Effect

Luna Salaver News Archive

Starting Monday, January 18, Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) will begin Phase 1 of a two-phase track infrastructure project, which will affect Capitol Corridor service. Phase 1 involves upgrading tracks between Capitol Corridor’s Suisun/Fairfield and Sacramento stations. To accommodate UPRR work crews, from Monday, January 18 through Sunday, February 14, Capitol Corridor will run on a modified schedule and a bus bridge from Sacramento to Suisun will be in effect for some late-morning and mid-day trains.
This work is designed to keep the railroad in good condition so trains can operate safely and reliably.

Changes to Train Schedule
Four trains will be suspended during the construction period to give Union Pacific extra time to work. The following trains WILL NOT OPERATE from January 18 – February 14, 2010:
• Eastbound trains: #534, #746
• Westbound trains: #533, #745

Changes to Bus Connections
Some changes to connecting motorcoach bus service will also occur as a result of this track work. Please check the temporary train schedules for detailed information about affected motorcoach lines.

Temporary train schedules are available at staffed stations or online at www.capitolcorridor.org. Passengers may also call 1-877-9RIDECC
