30 Reasons to love the Capitol Corridor

30 Reasons to Love the Capitol Corridor

December 16, 2021

Thirty years ago, on December 11, 1991, the Capitol Corridor launched its service connecting the San Francisco Bay Area to our state capital.

What began as a service of six trains a day between Sacramento and San Jose grew to as many as 32 weekday (and 22 weekend) trains between Sacramento and Oakland, with 14 extending as far south as San Jose, and two daily trains (one round trip) serving the route’s eastern section in Placer County.

While no doubt there are many more, here are 30 Reasons to Love the Capitol Corridor!

Comfortrelaxing on the Capitol Corridor train

Our coach cars offer spacious seating with head- and footrests. Sit back. Relax. Let us do the driving!

2| Tables
Each car has social seating areas with tables as well as seats with pull-down trays, giving riders room to work, eat, and play cards or games while on the train.

3| Quiet Car
For those who crave morning solitude, we designate Quiet Cars on select weekday morning trains where you can experience a peaceful, chat-free commute.

4| Ride with a view
