Temporary Highway 50 Closure Will Result in South Lake Tahoe Bus Detour and Stop Suspensions

Update: On September 29, the construction that resulted in the closure of Highway 50 was completed ahead of schedule. Service to and from Placerville is has resumed. Connecting bus service at the Stateline Transit Center and Stateline Kingsbury will remain suspended until Saturday, October 3, due to one-way traffic controls. Buses will serve the Tahoe Wye stop.

Beginning Friday, September 18, Highway 50 in the Sierra Nevada will be closed for two weeks, with an expected reopening on Saturday, October 3. The closure is required for Caltrans to install bridge girders to seismically retrofit a bridge near Echo Summit.

Santa Clara-Great America Station Road Closures Begin on August 3

July 30, 2020

On Monday, August 3, 2020, at 12:00 am, road closures on Centennial Boulevard and Stars and Stripes Drive will go into effect.

These closures are in place for the pre-construction and construction of Related Santa Clara, a new mixed-use urban center. Construction is set to last from 2021 to 2023 and Centennial Boulevard and Stars and Stripes Drive will be closed until further notice.

Vehicles traveling eastbound can access the Santa Clara Great America Train Station via a new exit ramp. All traffic leaving the Great America Train Station area will exit northbound on the new temporary road. The new exit ramp will also have a multiuse path for two-way bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
