Head to Oakland on Saturday for a lively experience at the “Jack of All Trades” Indie Craft & Antique Market, which will host a unique array of local makers, artists, designers, antiquers, collectors, plus DIY workshops, live music, and food and craft beer. This admission-free event will take place from 11am to 5pm along the water at Jack London Square. To get there, take the train to the Oakland Jack London station, which is steps from the action.
Mini Fall French Film Festival: 11/14, Sacramento
Francophiles and film enthusiasts alike will enjoy the 2nd Annual Mini Fall French Film Festival. Presented by the Sacramento French Film Festival, it takes place on Saturday at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento. The festival will feature screenings of five contemporary French films, a bar with wine, champagne, and classic French dishes, and a raffle. Showings are at 1pm, 3:05pm, 5:05pm, 7:15pm, and 9:25pm, and festival passes can be purchased online. To get there, take the train to the Sacramento station, which is walking distance from the theater. Keep in mind that the last westbound train out of Sacramento departs at 9:10pm, and the last eastbound departs at 8:15pm.
San Jose Bacon and Beer Classic: 11/14, San Jose
Bacon and beer aficionados, be sure to make your way to Municipal Stadium in San Jose on Saturday for the Bacon and Beer Classic, a one-of-a-kind celebration of your favorite indulgences in a sports setting. With more than 80 craft beers and 20 different bacon-inspired dishes from local restaurants, along with music, photos booths, interactive games, and access to the field, this is an event that’s sure to whet your appetite. Tickets can be purchased online for both the Brunch Session (1-4pm) and Evening Session (7-10pm) (although the evening Session runs too late for Capitol Corridor’s service).
