Spring has sprung a weekend full of events celebrating the season along the Capitol Corridor! Take a “road trip” tasting the best of Sacramento, celebrate the vibrant colors of spring in San Francisco, and hear some of the best jazz talents compete in Berkeley.

Savor, Sip Road Trip: 3/24, Sacramento

Happening: 6pm – 9pm
Ready for an adventurous road trip through a world of local flavor? Join fellow foodies and auto enthusiasts for Savor, Sip Road Trip at Sacramento’s California Automobile Museum this Saturday. This gala fundraising event will showcase plates from some of the region’s top restaurants and beverage stations from local wine and brewing companies, paired with classic cars. It’s all set in vignettes created to drive you to another place and time. Enjoy live entertainment by The Tropicali Flames featuring Zack Sapunor, photo opportunities in classic cars, raffles, a silent auction, and more. Tickets will include plentiful food, wine, beer tastings, and a souvenir tasting glass. All proceeds from the event will benefit the California Automobile Museum.

Getting there: Take the train to the Sacramento Station. From there it is a 25-minute walk, or you can catch a cab, Lyft or Uber, to the museum.

Macy’s Flower Show: 3/25 – 4/8, San Francisco

Happening: 10am – 5pm
Take in spectacular gardens filled with millions of live flowers, plants, and trees from around the world at Macy’s Flower Show. Starting this Sunday, March 25, and running through Sunday, April 8, a stunning celebration of flowers, food, art and music will be hosted by Macy’s Union Square. The theme of this year’s free event is “Once upon a Springtime”  bringing to life a unique twist on classic fairy tales. Designers have personified flora and fauna into a world of princesses, evil queens, fairy godmothers and noble knights. Lose yourself in all of the breathtaking delights and enjoy the journey of heroic characters triumphing over competing forces to usher in the beauty of spring. The full slate of events can be viewed online, including performances, demos, tours, food samplings, workshops, family activities, and more.

Getting there: Depending on your station of origin, take Capitol Corridor’s dedicated connecting bus from Emeryville to the SF Shopping Center stop, which is less than a third of a mile from the venue, or to the Temporary Transbay Terminal stop, which is a little further away but has more frequent service. You can also take the Capitol Corridor train to the Richmond Station or Oakland Coliseum Station and connect to BART frequent service to downtown San Francisco. From BART’s Montgomery Station, you can walk to Union Square or take MUNI.

Jazz Search West: 3/25, Berkeley

Happening: 3pm – 6pm
Come and listen to the Bay Area’s upcoming Jazz talents as they compete  at Jazz Search West 2018 in Berkeley. Sixteen adult and teen contestants will perform with a professional rhythm section and  receive valuable feedback from a panel of respected judges. At the end of the performances, with the help of an audience vote, three finalists will be chosen. The event is held at the Back Room and tickets are $10, which can be purchased in advance online to guarantee a seat. Launched in 2009, Jazz Search West provides an opportunity for emerging musicians to gain exposure and visibility to further their musical careers. It also gives listeners an opportunity to enjoy new talent and support local artists.

Getting there: Take the train to the Berkeley Station, and connect to downtown Berkeley on AC Transit with a free Transit Transfer. Or, take the train to the Richmond Station or Oakland Coliseum Station, connect to BART, and get off at Downtown Berkeley, which is just a few blocks from the venue.
