Parking at Santa Clara/Great America Station to Close Temporarily in Preparation for Super Bowl

Whether you’re a football fan or not, you won’t be able to escape football frenzy in the Bay Area this winter with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, February 7, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. We don’t know the teams playing yet, but we do know the game (and many of the related events taking place in the week preceding the game) will affect traffic and transportation throughout the region. While many of the logistics are still being worked out, we can say now that starting January 4, 2016 and through mid-February, parking at both the VTA-owned lot at the south end of Stars & Stripes Blvd. and the Levi’s Stadium-owned Yellow Lot 3 will be unavailable for parking by train passengers. Alternate parking is being worked out, and as soon as we have that information, we’ll share it with you. Stay tuned for more service information in the upcoming weeks leading up to the game!

Broadway Shuttle in Downtown Oakland Wants Your Input!

If you use the free Broadway Shuttle to access Capitol Corridor at the Jack London Square station, we encourage you to participate in a survey being conducted by the City of Oakland. The City is soliciting community feedback about proposed improvements to the Broadway Shuttle (a.k.a. “B Shuttle” or “Free B”) in downtown Oakland. Proposed improvements to the B Shuttle include service and route expansions, stop improvements, enhancements to speed up the service, and a possible conversion of the existing bus shuttle service to an Enhanced Bus or Streetcar service. The survey will take approximately 4-5 minutes. Visit www.Oaklandnet.com/BroadwayTransit for more information about the proposed improvements.
