Capitol Corridor Sponsors Schools on Skates in San Jose

On Wednesday, December 17, Capitol Corridor hosted students from Trace Elementary School at San Jose Downtown Ice as part of the holiday rink’s Schools on Skates program each season. Hundreds of students are sponsored by organizations such as Capitol Corridor. “We are thrilled to welcome Trace Elementary School to celebrate the holiday season at Downtown Ice,” said Capitol Corridor’s Managing Director David Kutrosky. The students got the chance to glide around 32 glimmering palm trees and view the “halo” light show with continuously changing colors and patterns. CCJPA boardmember and San Jose Councilwoman, Rose Herrera, joined in at the ice skating festivities. San Jose Downtown Ice is open through January 11, 2015, and you can show your December or January Capitol Corridor train ticket for $2 off general admission.

You can take Capitol Corridor to various stops in the Sierra, including South Lake Tahoe and Truckee on the North Shore, for a trip free from the stress of driving in traffic and snow.

Welcome Aboard at the California State Railroad Museum

Train enthusiasts young and old can enjoy a train-filled day by taking Capitol Corridor to the California State Railroad Museum.
