Sacramento Valley Station Parking Lot Construction Update

As part of the overall track relocation and new platform construction project, the City’s contractor has finished installing the 42” water pipeline and will start a paving restoration project of the parking areas surrounding the existing Sacramento depot.

The paving restoration project will take place January 26-29, 2012. The tentative work schedule is as follows:

January 26-27, 2012: Bus Loop Concrete Replacement from 9:00pm- 6:00am. This should not affect passenger parking or traffic.

January 28, 2012: Parking Lot Paving from 7:00am-5:30pm. During the repaving the following parking spaces will be closed: 38-71, 81-94, 100-102, 122-130. Traffic will enter the lot off of 5th street but will be directed to exit at 2nd and I Street.

January 29, 2012: Parking Lot Paving from 7:00am-5:30pm. During the repaving the following parking spaces will be closed: 244-266, 142-152, 125-141, 72-80, 316-340, 308-310, 297-300. Traffic will be able to enter and exit at 5th street but will not be able to access the back portion of the lot.

All work windows will be subject to weather conditions.

The City of Sacramento Parking Facilities Department has provided information on the following parking alternatives:

Additional parking is available at the City’s Old Sacramento Parking Garage located at the corner of 2nd and I Streets. Pedestrian access from the garage is available by using the entrance furthest West. The City offers parking discounts at this garage for passengers.

Commuter Special parking is Monday through Friday at the Old Sacramento Garage located at the corner of 2nd and I Streets. Commuters must be “IN” by 7:30 a.m. and “OUT” after 5:30 p.m. for the commuter rate of $4 all day (until midnight). The availability of the Commuter Special is subject to change at any time and does not apply to overnight parking or on days or hours when the Old Sacramento Garage accommodates special event parking. No discounts, coupons or validations are accepted with this rate. To take advantage of this discount, please use the automated Pay on Foot machines located on the first floor of the garage after 5:30 p.m.

Capitol Corridor passengers can park at the City’s Old Sacramento Garage located at the corner of 2nd and I Streets at a reduced rate. To take advantage of this discount, please submit your Capitol Corridor / Amtrak rail ticket or a copy to the parking cashier. The all-day discounted parking rate for Capitol Corridor passengers is $6.50.
