New Schedule Effective May 10, 2010!

A new schedule will go into effect on Monday, May 10. There are no major changes to train times, however, some bus connections have been adjusted for summer travel. Please review the schedule to double-check your trip times!

Motorcoach Bus Stop – Policy Reminder

As a reminder, Amtrak motorcoach buses are allowed to stop ONLY at designated motorcoach stops. All motorcoach drivers have been instructed to discontinue ‘courtesy’ stops, as these are unauthorized stops, to avoid any potential liability and contract issues.

Please be mindful that drivers are required to follow the existing policy, which never allows courtesy stops, and could jeopardize their job by deviating from this policy. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Spring savings on San Francisco’s favorite musical

Burst in to spring with a trip to Oz. Purchase tickets to WICKED for performances at San Francisco’s Orpheum Theatre now through May 30 and save up to 50% off tickets to Broadway’s Biggest Blockbuster.

WICKED, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical phenomenon, is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz and embark on a remarkable odyssey, culminating in the most spellbinding musical in years.

Fight Breast Cancer – Bra Art Auction

CC Riders Fight Breast Cancer with “Artful Bras”. This will be the second consecutive year that the CCJPA will support (no pun intended) the CC Riders creative fundraising effort for the American Cancer Society and to raise awareness about breast cancer.

The decorated “art bras” such as the Whooter House Bra by Dana Bilello-Barrow pictured here, are auctioned off to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The CC Riders are gearing up for Artful Bra II at High Hand Art Gallery in Loomis.

Last year’s fundraiser brought in over $7,000 and they are hoping to double it. As part of our support, we are actively publicizing the year’s events and encouraging folks to join the CC Riders’ efforts to raise breast cancer awareness.

New Platform Message Signs at Stations!

If you’ve been out to the stations lately you might have noticed something new!

Capitol Corridor is in the process of replacing 65 Platform Information Display signs (PIDS), with larger, four-lined signs designed by Daktronics. The first phase of the project is to replace signs at sixteen (16) Capitol Corridor Stations between Auburn and San Jose. The installation phase is 75% complete and is scheduled to be finished by the middle of this month. The second phase of the project will immediately follow and consists primarily of a software upgrade to allow for better display of messages and service information at all stations.
