Perry Family Farms Pumpkin Patch: 10/1-10/31, Fremont
Pumpkin season is upon us, and whether you are looking to decorate your home for fall, are on a quest to find jack-o-lantern worthy specimens, or simply want to enjoy the pumpkin patch experience on a pleasant autumn day, Perry Family Farms is the perfect place to take the whole family. The patch is open Monday – Friday, 12pm to 7pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 7pm through October 31, and features a vast assortment of locally grown pumpkins, a kids maze and tire patch, a haystack pyramid for climbing, character cut-outs to take photos with, a picnic area, and more!
Zombie Brew Crawl: Saturday, 10/17, Martinez
Head to downtown Martinez for the 3rd Annual Zombie Brew Crawl, where you’ll find both zombies and humans meandering along Main St. and sampling beers from more than 23 craft breweries. Zombie costumes aren’t required, though there will be prizes for the best individual and group costumes. And, if you’re feeling famished after all the beer sampling, you can check out one of downtown Martinez’s many great restaurants. Tickets for this fun and unique event can be purchased online in advance or at the event. To get there, take the Capitol Corridor to the Martinez station, which is steps from downtown.
Pizzacraft 2nd Annual Pizzafest: 10/17, Berkeley
For delicious pizza and a good time, come to Berkeley for the 2nd Annual Pizzafest on Saturday from 11 am to 3pm. Taking place at the corner of Gilman and 9th streets, this event will celebrate all things pizza and feature fresh pizza from over 15 chefs, with an opportunity for exhibitors to vote for their favorite! Pre-sale tickets can be purchased online through October 14, and tickets will also be available at the door. Kids under 12 are free with an accompanying adult, and adult tickets include a wristband for the beer tent. To get your pizza fix, take the Capitol Corridor to the Berkeley station.
49ers vs. Ravens: 10/18, Santa Clara
Football fans going to the San Francisco 49ers game on Sunday can make the trip without the hassle by taking the train to the game! The Capitol Corridor makes travel to Levi’s Stadium a breeze, not to mention you can enjoy a variety of pre-game refreshments in our Café Car. To get to the game, take the train to the Santa Clara/Great America station, which is a five-minute walk to the stadium entrance and all of the game-day fun.
