Travel Delays Expected November 24-26

November 23, 2021

Passengers traveling on Tuesday, November 23 experienced a series of extended delays lasting more than an hour due to a track incident that took place Monday night.

Throughout the day, crews have worked to clear tracks and repair signals, allowing trains to travel safely between Martinez and Richmond. Work is expected to be completed as early as Friday, November 26, or as late as Monday, November 29.

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, November 24, residual delays of 20-30 minutes are expected to continue in the Richmond area.

We understand that this may impact travel for many passengers heading into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. While we will do our best to provide delay notifications, we do advise passengers to consider taking earlier trains to accommodate the anticipated delays.

As an unreserved service, one-way and round-trip tickets offer the flexibility of being used up to a year from the original travel date, or on earlier departures. Restrictions may apply on tickets purchased using a promotional fare, for more details visit our Deals and Promotions page.
