TAKE THE TRAIN TO BASEBALL GAMES DURING THE 2023-24 SEASON

Batter up! We are thrilled to offer fans an easy way to get to and from the action at Oracle Park and Oakland Coliseum for all this season’s home games!

In addition to avoiding the stress of traffic and parking, fans who take the train will be able to get an early start by enjoying drinks and snacks available in our Café Car. We also offer FREE Wi-Fi and 10 movies you can stream right from your phone. Sit back, relax, and let us be your designated driver!

There are 2 easy ways to take the Capitol Corridor to Oracle Park:

Take the Capitol Corridor to Emeryville Station, then transfer to a connecting bus to San Francisco. The bus stops at downtown Transbay Temporary Terminal where you can get off, walk to the Embarcadero Station, and take the underground light rail N (MUNI) towards Oracle Park.
OR
Take the Capitol Corridor train to Richmond Station then connect to a BART towards San Francisco/Daly City or SFO (San Francisco Airport). Get off at Embarcadero Station and transfer to the Muni Light Rail N towards Oracle Park. BART and MUNI share the same station. Walk up the escalator to the Concourse and transfer to MUNI.

* Please note that BART requires a separate ticket, which can be purchased at any BART/MUNI stations, paid with a Clipper Card available in the Capitol Corridor Café Car, or online through a digital wallet.

Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day 2023

March 8, 2023

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987. International Women’s Day has been observed each year place on March 8th since 1911. Many countries around the world celebrate the holiday with demonstrations, educational initiatives, and customs such as presenting women with gifts and flowers.

Women have made important contributions to the growth and development of the United States, particularly in the field of transportation. Here is a list of a few honorable mentions:

  • Harriet Tubman: Helped more than 300 slaves reach freedom through the Underground Railroad.
  • Susan Morningstar: First woman on record employed by a railroad company.
  • Eliza Murfey: Patented 16 devices for improving railroad car axles. These devices were used to lubricate the axles with oil, which reduced derailments caused by seized axles and bearings.
  • Rosa Parks: Refused to obey bus driver James Blake’s order that she give up her seat to make room for a white passenger, sparking the Montgomery County Bus Boycott led by Dr. Martin Luther King. Parks became an icon of resistance and an important symbol of the modern Civil Rights Movement.
  • Leah “Rosie” Rosenfeld: Filed and settled a sex-discrimination suit against her employer that resulted in a change to California’s women’s protective laws and opened senior positions at the railroad for women.
  • Elizabeth Hanford Dole: Sworn in as the first woman to the Secretary of the Department of Transportation.
  • Jolene Molitoris: Became the first female to head the Federal Railroad Administration.
  • Sarita Britt, Cindia Chambers, and Debra Franks:  San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) selected its first female superintendent(s).
  • Janice Li:  First queer woman of color to be elected president of the Bay Area Rapid Transit Board (BART)

Hayward Station Improvement Project Phase 2: March 3- Mid November 2023

March 2, 2023

Starting Friday, March 3, 2023, phase two of construction will take place at the Hayward Station and is expected to be completed by mid November 2023.

The new portion of the platform on the main line (station) side will be in service. The other portions of the platform AND the entire platform on the siding side will be out of service. All passengers will board on the main platform until the project is complete. There will be signage and instruction arrows guiding passengers to the new boarding area.

We do not expect this construction project to impact train schedules; however, conductors on trains arriving at the Hayward Station will need to limit the number of doors they open since only a portion of the platform will be available for boarding at a given time. Thank you for your patience.
