As of September 20, 2021, all Capitol Corridor single-ride and round-trip fares are now Flexible Fares! What does this mean? Tickets are now fully refundable without any change or cancellation fees, if canceled prior to your original departure date.* In most cases, you can cancel your ticket on Amtrak’s website.

Ticket Flexibility of an Unreserved Service

No reservations are required to ride the Capitol Corridor. And with that comes the flexibility to easily change your travel plans with a valid ticket. Although you may have purchased your ticket with a specific date and train for your trip, you have the option of using that ticket on a different train and even on a different date. Tickets are valid for one year from the original date of travel—if you’ve purchased a ticket with a promotional discount, you’ll need to follow the terms and conditions of the promotion.

In June 2021, the Capitol Corridor administered a survey* to passengers on board our trains. We do an on-board survey every year in the spring, except in 2020 due to COVID.
