If you are traveling with us over the next couple of weeks, please note we are operating according to the Weekend/Holiday Schedule on the following days:

We encourage you to plan ahead and book early.  As a friendly reminder, face coverings are recommended on board all trains and buses, as well as at stations for the health and safety of all traveling this season. 

 

Service Advisory
Temporary Elevator Closure at Richmond Station

UPDATE 12/29/22:
The Richmond Station Elevator has been repaired and is now back in service. Thank you for your patience.

Please be advised that the elevator at Richmond Station to access the Capitol Corridor platform has been unexpectedly closed for service due to needed repairs. We expect the elevator to be out of service through at least Tuesday, January 3, 2023 and will provide updates about the status.

Passengers are advised to use the stairwell to access the platform until repairs are complete. If you are unable to use the stairs, please board or offboard at one of our other stations as follows:

  • Oakland Coliseum (OAC) – Transfer to/from BART via passenger walkway/ramp.
  • Berkeley (BKY) – Transfer to/from Downtown Berkeley BART station via AC Transit 51B route (show your Capitol Corridor ticket for a free transfer)
  • Emeryville (EMY) – Connect to/from MacArthur BART station using the free Emeryville Emery-Go-Round shuttle bus

CONTACTLESS TICKETING 
The easiest way to purchase your ticket is online from our website, 
www.capitolcorridor.org, or the Amtrak app. After boarding, simply open the ticket on your smartphone and present it to the conductor to scan. 

ON BOARD AMENITIES 
All Capitol Corridor trains feature spacious and comfortable seating and offer a wide variety of amenities, including free Wi-Fi, electrical outlets in each row, bike/luggage racks, and an on-board Café Car with snacks and beverages.

Due to winter weather conditions and a storm expected to bring several feet of snow that will make travel difficult, connecting bus service to Reno/Sparks and South Lake Tahoe is CANCELLED for Tuesday, December 27.  Connecting bus service between Sacramento and Auburn will continue to operate as scheduled.

Winter Weather Update: Sierra Bus Service Changes 12/10-12/11/22

Due to winter weather conditions and a storm expected to bring several feet of snow that will make travel difficult, connecting bus service to Reno/Sparks and South Lake Tahoe is CANCELLED for Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11, 2022.  Connecting bus service between Sacramento and Auburn will continue to operate as scheduled.

Please note tickets for the game (and rest of the season) will be CAPPED to limited sales, so please book early. We also adjusted service to better accommodate fans–Train 727 will depart Sacramento at 8:05am and arrive at Santa Clara-Great America at 10:47am. Please visit our website for more information and adjusted service.

Railroad Labor Strike Averted

We are grateful that Congress has passed legislation to avert what would have been a nationwide railroad strike, which would have halted our service and many others. President Biden is expected to sign the legislation in the coming days. We will continue to run regularly scheduled train service.
