No car? No kayak or paddleboard? No problem! You can easily rent gear and get out on the water at several locations along our route, listed here from south to north. In addition to the areas walkable from our train stations, you can also take advantage of our dedicated bus connections (or use other convenient transit options) to reach Northern California’s top aquatic destinations.

Gear Up for Bike Month 2019!

There are many sustainable and enjoyable alternatives to driving; the Capitol Corridor is one, and biking is another— together, they’re a match made in heaven! We have long offered bike-friendly accommodations on board our trains, and more recently expanded convenient bike storage at our stations as well. One in ten Capitol Corridor riders also rides a bike as part of their travel, and that number is growing! In May, we demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the Northern Californian biking community at Bike to Work Day events on board our trains and along the route.

May Picks: Cinco de Mayo, Transcontinental Railroad 150th Anniversary, PIER 39 Spring Wine Pour, Davis Pride, Sac Waterfront Days, and Oakland Art Month

Add a little “spring” to your step with some fun along our route this month! Celebrate Mexican-American culture at Cinco de Mayo events in San Francisco and Oakland; commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad in Sacramento; sip wine and stroll PIER 39 while supporting kid’s environmental education; enjoy a day of live music while supporting the Yolo County LGBTQ community; and celebrate Oakland’s art scene all month long!
