Stimulus Bill Would Provide the Capitol Corridor with Emergency Funds after Sharp Ridership Declines Due to COVID-19

OAKLAND, CA – On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, the Senate passed a $2 trillion stimulus bill that would provide Amtrak, the Capitol Corridor’s operating partner, with approximately $1B in financial support. Of that $1B stimulus bill, a minimum of $239M would be targeted at state-supported services, with includes the Capitol Corridor. With public health conditions significantly improved and ridership demand on the rise, the Capitol Corridor is increasing service on June 7, 2021. Read more about the June 7th schedule increase here.

Face coverings are still required on board trains, buses and at stations, even with the expected reopening of the state on June 15, 2021.

Capitol Corridor Offers 25% Discount to Oakland A’s Baseball Games

MARCH 3, 2020, OAKLAND, CA – With baseball season around the corner, the Capitol Corridor has teamed up with the Oakland A’s to make it easier and more economical for fans to travel to home baseball games at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. As part of its ongoing partnership with the Oakland A’s, the Capitol Corridor is offering a train discount of 25% for fans who ride the Capitol Corridor to A’s home games at the Coliseum.
