Philip Krayna News Archive, Service Alerts

Updated 5:00 a.m., December 10, 2014:
Normal service has resumed on Capitol Corridor. Thank you for your patience during the service modifications on the evening of December 9.

Updates 7:30 p.m., December 9, 2014:
Due to continued protest activity Tuesday evening, December 9, Capitol Corridor train service at the Oakland Jack London, Emeryville, and Berkeley stations has been suspended for eastbound trains 546 and 548 to Sacramento, and westbound trains 549 and 551 from Sacramento.

Passengers on these disrupted trains will be accommodated as follows:

  • TO SACRAMENTO: Trains 546 and 548 passengers will take the Capitol Corridor train to the Oakland Coliseum station, where they will transfer to BART*, ride BART to Richmond, and then transfer to the Capitol Corridor train in Richmond for travel on to Sacramento.
  • FROM SACRAMENTO: Trains 549 and 551 passengers will take the Capitol Corridor train to Richmond, and transfer to Richmond BART for travel to either San Francisco or the Oakland Coliseum station.
  • SAN FRANCISCO PASSENGERS (connecting to/from trains 546, 548, 549, or 551): Anyone going to or from San Francisco will need to take BART to cross the Bay starting after 7:30 p.m. Passengers connecting to eastbound trains 546 and 548 should give themselves plenty of time to make the Richmond Capitol Corridor departures of 8:42 and 10:27 p.m. respectively, although these trains are expected to hold a little longer than normal to ensure that passengers make the connection from BART. The downtown San Francisco eastbound bus stops will be served by eastbound buses; however, they will transport passengers to the Embarcadero BART station instead of Emeryville.

*Capitol Corridor passengers transferring to and from BART will not be required to purchase a BART ticket starting at 7:30 p.m. (through Midnight or until regular Capitol Corridor is restored); BART will accept a Capitol Corridor/Amtrak train ticket or pass in lieu of a paid BART ticket.
