1. CCJPA Program Environmental Assessment – Comments invited
As part of the plan to expand and enhance Capitol Corridor Intercity Passenger Rail service, the CCJPA has prepared a Program Environmental Assessment (Program EA) that evaluates the potential environmental effects of implementing the Capitol Corridor Service Expansion Program, hereafter CCSEP. The CCSEP evaluates the increase service frequency from 1 to 2 daily roundtrips between Auburn and Sacramento and 7 to 11 daily round-trips between Oakland and San Jose. This program is part of the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) comprehensive capital investment program for high-speed intercity passenger rail (HSIPR) service. 2. Capitol Corridor launches e-Updates program
Capitol Corridor recently teamed up with GovDelivery to provide subscription-based e-mail and SMS text messages directly to your computer or wireless device. This service is similar to cus tomer update programs initiated by other transit agencies. You may have noticed that we’re now sending out our CC Rail Mail e-newsletter using GovDelivery. Our new e-updates program will also allow users to subscribe to Service Advisories, Schedule changes and other Capitol Corridor topics that may be of interest to you.
If you had previously signed up to receive CC Rail Mail, you’ve been automatically transferred over to our new service so that you can continue to receive CC Rail Mails. If you’d like to update your preferences to also receive service alerts or other topics, please visit the E-Updates page on our website. You can sign in using the e-mail address you use to receive the CC Rail Mail.

4. Motorcoach Service Advisory: Reno Hot August Nights
Hot August Nights may delay Capitol Corridor motorcoach buses between Reno/Sparks and Sacramento. Delays are expected on I-80 due to lane restrictions and narrowed lanes between Truckee and the Nevada State Line during the Hot August Nights event between 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Capitol Corridor trains at Sacramento may hold as long as possible, but some passengers may be re-accommodated to the next available train schedule due to a late bus. Exception, the last Capitol Corridor train on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from Sacramento will hold for a late motorcoach bus from Reno.
