1. 2012-14 Draft Business Plan
The CCJPA released the draft version of its 2012-14 Business Plan to the public on January 20, 2012. In conjunction with this release, Capitol Corridor held public workshops to discuss the business plan, as well as future plans for Capitol Corridor.
Monday, February 6, 2012 is the last day that passengers and community members will be able to provide input and comments on this draft. You can download the draft version of the plan on the Business Plan page of the CCJPA web site and submit comments via the web site.

2. Service Advisory for February 4 & 5: Bus bridge Between Richmond and Berkeley
Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) track crews began a railroad project to replace the bridges under the mainline tracks near Berkeley on January 23, 2012. This could affect all Capitol Corridor trains operating between the Richmond and Berkeley stations between 7:00pm and 12:00am (midnight). On Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5, 2012 passengers traveling between these stations on trains 747, 749, 751, 744, 746 and 748 will be bus-bridged to accommodate the track work. For more information visit www.capitolcorridor.org

3. Capitol Corridor Train Status update
You may have noticed that the Train Status feature on our site was down, then working only intermittently for the last ten days. We have restored the Train Status feature to working order – thanks for your patience!

4. Safety and Security at Stations
Passenger safety and security is priority one for Capitol Corridor. Since October of 2010 we’ve worked with Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) to install nearly two and a half miles (13,000 feet) of fencing materials throughout the Capitol Corridor route. These projects are part of an effort to reduce trespasser activity, which inhibits our ability to operate trains in a safe and timely manner. In addition, this year CCJPA will deploy closed circuit video surveillance systems at six unstaffed stations in an effort to improve safety and security for passengers and facilities alike. Additional safety and security projects will be deployed at stations and along the service route in an effort to maintain our ability to provide you safe and reliable train service.

5. Stitch ‘n Ride Discount Details

6. Service Advisory: Bay Bridge Closure February 17 – February 21, 2012
The Bay Bridge is scheduled to close (weather permitting) in the westbound direction from approximately 8:00 pm on Friday February 17 and re-open on Tuesday morning February 21, 2012 at 5:00 am. For details on why Caltrans is closing the bridge, visit BayBridgeInfo.org
As in previous Bay Bridge closures, the CCJPA and Amtrak are creating a temporary operating plan for this one-way closure whereby Capitol Corridor passengers will be re-accommodated on BART trains from Richmond to Embarcadero Station in San Francisco, and vice versa. There will be no Amtrak Thruway Bus service between Emeryville, the regular transfer station, and San Francisco via the Bay Bridge. Information will be posted on the Capitol Corridor web site and at stations beginning next week.
