Celebrate National Train Day with Capitol Corridor this Saturday, May 10, 2008. Check out our local events and activities:
Emeryville Celebration
Join the Emeryville community at the Emeryville station on Saturday May 10, for rail-related fun for the whole family! From 11am – 1pm, the City of Emeryville will host a community celebration in coordination with the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), Caltrans Division of Rail and Amtrak, to recognize National Train Day, and the key role that the Emeryville station plays in getting people and goods where they need to go. The CCJPA, Caltrans and Amtrak will present the first-ever California Golden STAR (California Golden State Advocate of Rail) Award. Additionally, the station will host family-friendly fun such as a model train display, cookies and punch, and children’s activities.
Free Admission to the California State Railroad Museum
On May 10, 2008, passengers showing their Amtrak ticket stub or Sacramento River Cats game ticket stub or season ticket holder pass will receive free admission to the California State Railroad Museum.
Sacramento Station – Northern California’s Busiest Station Celebrates!
Commemorative postcards, stickers and other giveaways will be handed out from 9am – 2pm in honor of National Train Day at Sacramento, Northern California’s busiest train station (and the 8th busiest in the nation) on May 10th, 2008 while supplies last. Enjoy light refreshments and learn about Sacramento Regional Transit’s direct Light Rail connection to the station.
San Francisco Ferry Station honors National Train Day
On May 10th, 2008, the San Francisco Ferry Building Station will celebrate National Train Day during the popular SF Farmer’s Market at the beautiful Ferry Building. Enjoy commemorative postcards, stickers and other giveaways while supplies last, and enter to win a prize drawing. The SF Ferry Station is just south of the Ferry Building – look for the National Train Day Banners!
Davis and Martinez Station Open Houses
On May 10th, 2008 various staffed Amtrak stations will be hosting open houses in celebration of National Train Day. Commemorative postcards, stickers and other giveaways will be handed out, while supplies last. Stop by one of the Capitol Corridor stations listed below to learn more about taking the train.

2. May 12 Timetable Change
**********************************************************************
Capitol Corridor’s new timetable goes into effect on Monday, May 12. This new schedule reflects changes to some of the motorcoach times and routes, including a new San Francisco/Route 99 stop at Civic Center (near 1145 Market St. between 7th & 8th) and new motorcoach service from Sacramento to Auburn for Train 544.
