1. Service Advisory: Potential Train Delays November 19-20

Union Pacific track crews will perform a signal improvement project between the Emeryville and Oakland Coliseum stations on Saturday, November 19th and Sunday November 20, 2011. As a result, passengers traveling aboard Capitol Corridor trains may experience delays of 15 to 20 minutes between the Emeryville and Oakland Coliseum stations.
This work is part of the Interstate 880 freeway retrofit project and will allow the Capitol Corridor and other trains to operate through the construction work area more efficiently. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Caltrain equipment for trains 542 & 553 – Wednesday, November 23rd ONLY
In order to maximize available seating capacity, Caltrain will provide the Capitol Corridor a set of equipment to assist with the holiday travel rush. On Wednesday, November 23rd only, Trains 542 and 553 will consist of Caltrain equipment, not the regular Amtrak California equipment used for our service. Passengers planning to travel aboard either of those trains on Wednesday should listen carefully to any announcements made by conductors when the train pulls into the station and be advised that limited snack service will be available.

One Ticket, One Seat
Please be mindful that this will be an extremely busy travel weekend. As a courtesy to other passengers, please store your carry-on baggage in the luggage racks, overhead bins, or on the floor under your seat to keep seats open for riders during this busy time.

Avoid the Rush
Busiest travel days are Wednesday before and Sunday after Thanksgiving. If traveling on Wednesday and want to avoid the crowds, ride before noon or after 6:00 p.m. CCJPA officials urge passengers to purchase tickets in advance. You can buy online at Amtrak.com, at Ticket Kiosk self-ticketing kiosks, or from an agent at staffed stations. Passengers should allow plenty of time at stations prior to departure – at least 45 minutes before, if tickets need to be picked up. Capitol Corridor’s entire timetable, parking, luggage guidelines and ticketing information can be found online at capitolcorridor.org.

Weekend/Holiday Schedule
Capitol Corridor will operate a weekend/holiday schedule on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2011 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
