Service Advisory: Track work November 7-22, 2009Union Pacific will be upgrading track infrastructure near the Suisun/Fairfield station, where they will replace a railroad bridge at their own expense between November 7-22, 2009. This work is designed to keep the railroad in good condition so trains can operate reliably. Capitol Corridor plans to return to its full schedule beginning Monday, November 23 2009. Thank you in advance for your patience, understanding and cooperation.

Changes to Train Schedule
The following trains will be suspended during the construction period to give Union Pacific extra time to work. These trains WILL NOT OPERATE from Nov. 7-22, 2009:
Eastbound Trains: 526, 534
Westbound Trains: 527, 533

There will be no service (train or bus) for the above trains. Other trains may operate on a modified schedule to accommodate the work crew.

S.F. Shopping Center motorcoach bus stop advisory for Nov. 8

On Sunday, November 8th a Veterans Day parade will be held in downtown San Francisco, closing part of Market Street from approximately 10am until 4pm. During this time our San Francisco Shopping Center (SFS) motorcoach bus stop will be suspended and buses will not pick-up or drop-off from this location.

Passengers wishing to travel to the San Francisco Shopping Center may take a motorcoach bus to the Moscone Center stop (SFM) and walk two blocks north, or utilize BART from Richmond. The BART Powell Street station is directly underneath the San Francisco Shopping Center motorcoach bus stop. A separate fare is required for passengers taking BART.

Fare increase effective November 16, 2009

As part of the CCJPA’s FY10 budget, the CCJPA is instituting fare increases on Nov. 16, 2009. One-way fares are going up by 2% which will correspond to a maximum increase of some fares by $1; other one-way fares will remain unchanged. Multi-ride ticket fares will increase by an average of 4%, ranging from 3% to 10% depending upon city-pairs.
We do not like raising fares but revenue needs to offset flat operating assistance from the State and increasing Amtrak expenses. Please note that as an example, the multi-ride ticket fares on a per mile basis ($0.11 to $0.18) are priced very favorably to driving on the congested highways ($0.45 – $0.71 per mile according to AAA, depending on vehicle).
