New Amtrak Baggage Policy Effective 10/1

New Amtrak policy for baggage and carry ons

Effective October 1, 2015, Amtrak will begin charging a $20 fee for excess and oversize baggage. While this policy change is unlikely to affect most Capitol Corridor passengers, it is a reminder that passengers may not bring on board more than two pieces of large carry-on luggage (bicycles included), plus two personal items (small bags, back backs, laptops, and purses). The larger, carry-on items must not exceed 50 lbs. and 28 x 22 x 14 inches, and the personal items must be smaller than 25 lbs. and 14 x 11 x 7 inches. The $20 excess baggage fee will be charged for any carry-on or personal items that exceed the quantity and/or size limits. At staffed stations, the fee will be collected at the station, and at unstaffed stations, it will be collected on board the train. Visit www.amtrak.com for the complete baggage policy.

Service Suspended at Pier 39 Bus Stop 10/4-10/12

Amtrak Pier 39 Bus Stop closed

Bus service at the Pier 39 connecting bus stop in San Francisco will be suspended on Sunday, October 4, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to the 39th annual Bridge to Bridge Run in San Francisco. Bus service to the stop will resume after 1:00 p.m.; however, the stop will be closed again for service October 5-12 due to Fleet Week activities.

New Location for Santa Rosa Bus Stop Effective 10/5
