1. Reminder- Capitol Corridor trackwork project in progress until February 21, 2007
Union Pacific is upgrading track infrastructure (primarily railroad ties and bridges) between Richmond and the north side of the Martinez-Benicia drawbridge, installing approximately 40,0000 new wood ties at their own expense. This is the first installment of a multi-year track upgrade project between Oakland and Sacramento, which will keep the railroad in good condition so that trains can operate reliably.
On weekdays, some morning and mid-day trains are suspended during the construction period to give the track workers time to do the rebuilding. The following weekday trains WILL NOT OPERATE from January 17, 2007-February 21, 2007:
Eastbound trains: #518, #526, #530, and #534
Westbound trains: #527, #531, #533, and #541
(Train #529 will operate thru to San Jose)
Other trains will operate as normal (some with adjusted schedules), although trains passing through the work area between 8am and 3pm may also experience a few minutes delay.
We apologize for the inconvenience of this trackwork construction, but rest assured that in the long run, this maintenance will help us deliver a more reliable Capitol Corridor service.

2. Capitol Corridor’s Annual Stitch ‘n Ride event is back!
Break out your knitting needles – it’s time for the 4th annual Stitch n’ Ride on February 24, 2007! Join the Capitol Corridor onboard train 727 to Stitches West 2007 in Santa Clara. Sponsored by Knitter’s Magazine, the convention is a chance for knitters and other crafty types, both beginners and experts to meet with authors, take classes, learn to knit and shop in the marketplace. Ditch the car and come knit with us and other locals who share the crafty bug. We will have goodie bags and fun prizes to give away as you sit and stitch with fellow knitters and arrive at Stitches West ready for more.

3. CCJPA Board Meeting – Date Change
The Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority Board meeting scheduled for February 21, 2007 has been rescheduled. The next CCJPA Board meeting will be held March 21, 2007 at 10am in the Suisun City Council Chambers.
