New Year’s Eve Capitol Corridor/Amtrak Thruway Bus Schedule Changes
On New Year’s Eve, the City of San Francisco will close many of the streets around the Ferry Building and in the Fisherman’s Wharf area to accommodate New Year’s Eve celebrants. Streets will be blocked beginning at 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2011 through 4:00 AM on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Capitol Corridor will implement temporary bus and schedule changes for buses traveling to/from San Francisco after 7:30 p.m. Passengers making the bus connection to/from San Francisco during the street closures may want to transfer onto BART, which connects with the Capitol Corridor at the Richmond Intermodal Station.
If you chose to use the bus connection to San Francisco, the Ferry Building stop (SFC) will be moved to Spear & Mission Streets (two blocks west from the Ferry Building). The Pier 39 (SFW) and Hyatt (SFF) stops will have no service after 8:00 PM. Passengers who normally use the Pier 39 stop should use the F- Market Streetcar or walk 20 minutes to Spear and Mission Streets.
Passengers who normally use the Hyatt stop should walk one block south to Spear and Mission Streets.
