Track Work Project Resumes

March 8 – March 15

Expect Slight Delays on Mid-Day Trains

Starting Monday, March 8, Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) will resume its track infrastructure project, which will affect Capitol Corridor mid-day service. This final phase involves upgrading tracks between Richmond and Oakland Jack London stations. To accommodate UPRR work crews, from Monday, March 8 through Monday, March 15, 2010, Capitol Corridor will single track trains through the work areas. Passengers who are on trains traveling through the work area between 9:00AM and 3:00PM should expect delays of 20 to 30 minutes.

Passengers traveling to or from the East Bay or San Francisco during the midday period may want to consider utilizing BART to transfer to/from Capitol Corridor trains at the Richmond Intermodal Station to avoid potential delays.

This work is designed to keep the railroad in good condition so trains can operate safely and reliably.
