Capitol Corridor Hosts Folding Bike Expo
Folding Bikes Practical and Convenient Solution for Bike-to-Transit Enthusiasts

OAKLAND, CALIF., December 3, 2012 — Looking for the perfect holiday gift for your commuting loved one? Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) and Sacramento’s Rex Cycles will showcase the convenience and practicality of folding bikes on Wednesday, December 5th from 2pm-6pm at the Sacramento Valley Amtrak Station in Sacramento. The public and the media are invited to see the latest advances in folding bicycles. Manufacturers including Bike Friday and Brompton will be on hand with plenty of bicycles to show off the very latest in folding bike options. The public is invited to stop by and test ride the folding bicycles.

The Capitol Corridor carries over 1.75 million passengers each year and surveys show about 10 percent of its customers ride a bike to access trains. Folding bikes figure prominently in the CCJPA’s future plan to address safe bike storage on its trains. These bikes are encouraged on other transit systems as well.
