Capitol Corridor welcomes Yolobus to the Transit Transfer Program

Priscilla Kalugdan Press Releases

Oakland, CA – As of January 1, 2003, Capitol Corridor riders can transfer easily to Yolobus transit using free Transit Transfers provided by Amtrak Capitol Corridor train conductors. Yolobus serves Davis, West Sacramento, Winters, Woodland, downtown Sacramento, Sacramento International Airport, Cache Creek Casino, Esparto, Madison and Knights Landing.
“We are focused on making it convenient for people to use the Capitol Corridor trains and the Transit Transfer program is an example of meeting their travel needs,” said Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority Executive Director, Thomas Margro. The program was developed in recognition that many Capitol Corridor train passengers use transit to and from their destinations. The Transit Transfer program is a prime example of the solid partnerships the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority has developed throughout its service area.
Here’s how it works. While en-route, ticket-carrying Amtrak Capitol Corridor passengers ask the conductor aboard the train for a free Transit Transfer. The conductor will give the passenger a two-part validated transfer good through the dates punched on the transfer. One will be good for an immediate connection and one can be used within the validation date for a return trip to the train.
Yolobus joins several other transit organizations already participating in the Transit Transfer program, including AC Transit, County Connection and Sacramento RT. For more information visit the Capitol Corridor website at https://www.amtrakcapitols.com.
