BART Transbay service to/from San Francisco expected to resume at 4pm

Linsey Ettlin News Archive, Service Alerts

Due to a fire near BART tracks in West Oakland that started early this morning, there is currently no BART service between Oakland and San Francisco. This means passengers planning to transfer between Capitol Corridor trains and BART trains at the Richmond and Oakland Coliseum stations will need to utilize alternate methods of transportation for travel to/from San Francisco.

BART has posted on their website that they hope to restore full Transbay service to/from San Francisco by 4pm this afternoon, but this will depend upon work progress at the West Oakland site. Capitol Corridor advises passengers to please continue to check www.bart.gov for updates on BART’s service restoration if you plan to use BART for your travel plans this afternoon.

As a reminder, Capitol Corridor will run its regularly scheduled motorcoach bus service to/from San Francisco for ticketed Capitol Corridor and Amtrak passengers. Due to expected traffic delays for these buses, all trains may not be able to wait for buses to arrive at Emeryville. If the train must depart prior to the arrival of the motorcoach bus, passengers will be accommodated on the next train from Emeryville.

Thank you in advance for your patience with this unusual situation.
