Linsey Ettlin News Archive, Service Alerts

Construction is underway at the Sacramento Valley Station to create a new vehicle exit and pedestrian cross walk at 4th and I street. This 4-month project will conclude at the end of July and will greatly ease the traffic flow at the station parking lot and eventually allow vehicles to turn left (currently, vehicles are only allowed to make a right turn) from the parking lot onto the North and Southbound on ramps to I-5, as well as provide a traffic light and safe route for train riders to and from the Old Town Sacramento Parking Structure.
On Saturday, May 5th contracters will be paving portions of the parking lot and approximately 35 parking spaces will be out of service or partially blocked from 6am – 2:30pm.
In the event you find no parking spaces available at the Sacramento Valley Station lot, the City of Sacramento Parking Facilities Department has provided information on the following parking alternatives:
Additional parking is available at the City’s Old Sacramento Parking Garage located at the corner of 2nd and I Streets. Pedestrian access from the garage is available by using the entrance furthest West.
