Affects: Passengers traveling from San Francisco to Emeryville, connecting to Train 542
When: Tuesday, December 10, 2013, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 and Thursday, December 12, 2013
The CCJPA and Amtrak, working jointly with Compass Transportation, will conduct three tests in which all tickets, including monthly and multi-ride tickets, held by passengers boarding Amtrak Thruway buses for train 542 will be scanned electronically at the bus stops in San Francisco. The scanning tests will be held on the afternoon of December 10th, December 11th and December 12th for train 542 only. Amtrak will notify the Union Pacific Railroad to hold train 542 at Emeryville in the event of late buses. Union Pacific Railroad has been made aware of this effort.
To assist with timely boarding of the buses in San Francisco, please have your ticket out when approaching the bus driver to board in order to help expedite the scanning process.
