UPDATE ON 8/27/14: This project has been extended into September, past Labor Day.

Starting Thursday, June 26, the section of the Sacramento Valley Station lot (Lot 293) that is under the I-5 freeway ramps will be closed for about two and a half months as part of a project to expand and improve the lot.

If you are a monthly parker here, you will still be able to park in other sections of the lot; however, space will be limited. If you can’t find parking in Lot 293, you’ll be able to park in Lot 297 (entrance located at 7th and G), and should display the hang tag you normally use in Lot 293 to avoid a citation.

If you are a daily parker, you can park at Lot 297 for $10/day, or at the Old Sacramento Garage at 2nd and I streets at a special rate of $4/day if you arrive before 7:30 a.m. and are out after 5:30 p.m.

Please note that access into the lot will not be available through the 2nd St. entrance, which will only be open to exiting vehicles during the work period. The 4th St. entrance will be open during construction, and there will also be a walkway for bicyclists and pedestrians (including those with disabilities) between the parking lot and 2nd St.

The expansion project is scheduled for completion in mid-September. Click here for more details on the project from the City of Sacramento website.
