New Train Schedule goes into effect January 14, 2013

Starting January 14, 2013 Capitol Corridor will implement a new train schedule. Below is an overview of some changes that have been made in the new schedule:
– New Napa bus stop- starting Monday January 14, 2013 Amtrak will be moving its bus stop in Napa to a new facility listed below. We will no longer be using the old transit center on Pearl Street, or the Wine Train Station stop.
New Facility:
Soscol Gateway Transit Center
625 Burnell Street
Napa, Ca 94559-3420

– Several motorcoach bus connections from San Francisco will depart on new schedules to allow for more timely connections during heavy traffic conditions. If you use the motorcoach bus connections to/from San Francisco, please check the updated departure times.

– Eastbound weekday trains will have a minor schedule change. Trains will depart the Santa Clara University (SCC) station one minute earlier.

New Capitol Corridor transit information center hours

Effective January 7, 2013 the Capitol Corridor transit information center will have new hours. Passengers can reach a live agent for travel assistance between 8am-9pm daily at 1-877-9-RIDECC (1-877-974-3322).

Quiet Car Enhancements

Around the country, rail agencies are providing additional or introducing Quiet Cars on their trains as riders happily find a place to get away from cell phone chatter or a quiet place to ride for sleeping or reading. Effective January 14, 2013, Capitol Corridor will be expanding our quiet car program as follows; Capitol Corridor 500 series trains that arrive on or about 10:00 a.m. in the Bay Area or Sacramento on weekdays will be added to the already existing Quiet Car train line up. Quiet Cars will be available on Westbound Trains 521, 523, 525, 527, and 529 and Eastbound Trains 520, 522, and 524.

To provide a consistent experience for riders, the quiet car will either be the cab car or car 1 to minimize foot traffic through the car. Groups will be accommodated as best as possible in cars away from the quiet car.

The quiet car is a place with dimmed lighting, as you are probably aware, where conversations are discouraged and cell phones should be placed on vibrate or silent. Riders who want to have discussions are requested to move to a non-quiet car. Riders should respect the “one seat one ticket” policy and not make a bed out of two seats.

Temporary Service Change for S.F. Bus Connections – January 21, 2013

A march celebrating Martin Luther King Day will take place on Monday, January 21, 2013 in San Francisco. As a result, the San Francisco Caltrain Depot (SFP) and Moscone Convention Center (SFM) stops will be closed between 10:00am and 12:30pm. More information is available in the News section of the Capitol Corridor website.
