As part of the plan to expand and enhance Capitol Corridor Intercity Passenger Rail service, the CCJPA has prepared a Program Environmental Assessment (Program EA) that evaluates the potential environmental effects of implementing the Capitol Corridor Service Expansion Program, hereafter CCSEP. The CCSEP evaluates the increase service frequency from 1 to 2 daily round trips between Auburn and Sacramento and 7 to 11 daily round-trips between Oakland and San Jose. This program is part of the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) comprehensive capital investment program for high-speed intercity passenger rail (HSIPR) service.
