Connecting Bus Service Restored in Sierra, Sunday, March 4

All connecting buses in the Sierra are operating today.

Connecting bus service east of Auburn along Interstate 80 is cancelled on Saturday, March 3. Capitol Corridor connecting buses will provide service between Sacramento and Auburn only – there will be no stops at Colfax, Truckee, Reno and Sparks.

Route 50 remains open and service is running between Placerville and South Lake Tahoe, but passengers may experience delays due to weather conditions and chain requirements.

For Sunday, March 4, the plan is to run all service in the Sierra along Interstate 80 and 50; however, that is subject to change based weather and road conditions.

Bus service in the Sierra region between Colfax and Reno and between Placerville and South Lake Tahoe will be in operation again on Saturday, March 3. Passengers should expect possible delays, however, due to chain controls.

Due to severe winter storms expected in the Sierra starting Thursday, March 1, the Capitol Corridor has decided to cancel all connecting bus service on Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2 between Colfax and Truckee/Reno and between Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. Buses will operate between Sacramento and Auburn and between Sacramento and Placerville only. The following stops will not be served:

– Colfax, CA
– Truckee, CA
– Reno, NV
– Sparks, NV
– South Lake Tahoe Transit Center, CA
– Stateline Transit Center, CA
– Kingsbury Transit Center, NV

Capitol Corridor’s connecting bus service is now operating in the Sierra to/from Reno and South Lake Tahoe; however, with weather conditions changing, passengers may experience delays. We will continue to update this page throughout the week and into the weekend.
