Media Advisory: Photo/Interview Opportunity at California State Railroad Museum

Beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, journalists are invited for a first official look at one of the new Siemens Charger Clean Diesel-Electric Locomotives on display at the California State Railroad Museum as part of the 2017 California Passenger Rail Summit. The California-built, environmentally-friendly Charger locomotives will begin operation on the Capitol Corridor service later this month.

CalSTA Secretary Brian P. Kelly, Siemens Rolling Stock President Michael Cahill, and Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) Managing Director David Kutrosky will each give brief remarks about the Charger locomotives, followed by a brief Q&A session.

Remarks and Q&A session will be held in the museum’s Roundhouse from 3:00-3:30pm. Reporters may remain to photograph the locomotive until 3:45pm. After the Photo/Interview Opportunity, officials will proceed to the 2017 California Passenger Rail Summit.
