Update on Phase 2 track work: February 22 – March 3, 2010
*****************************************************
This information is for Phase 2 of the two-phase track work project
underway by Union Pacific along our route. Phase 2 construction is
expected to last approximately 10 days from February 22, 2010 – March
3, 2010.

During this time, Union Pacific will be upgrading track infrastructure
(primarily railroad ties) between the Martinez and Oakland Jack London
stations, where they will install new ties at their own expense. This
is part of the fourth installment of a multi-year track upgrade
project between Oakland and Sacramento designed to keep the railroad
in good condition so trains can operate safely and reliably.

During the course of this track work, some of the morning and early
afternoon Capitol Corridor trains will not operate between the
Martinez and Oakland Jack London stations. Instead, connecting buses
will carry passengers between those two stations, and trains will
operate on the remainder of the route on a modified schedule.
