Davis Anniversary

Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Railroad in Yolo County on August 25

On August 24, 1868, the first train arrived in Yolo County at the Davis Train Depot in what was then called Davisville. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of this historic event, Friends of the Yolo County Archives, along with the City of Davis and Union Pacific, will host a celebration at the Davis Station from 10am to 12pm. Festivities will include commemoration speeches, historical exhibits and tabling, children’s activities, refreshments, entertainment, and the unveiling of an interpretive plaque. To get there from Sacramento, take Train 729 or 733.
