Discount BART Tickets Discontinued and Replaced with Clipper
As many passengers may have noticed, starting January 1, 2018, the Capitol Corridor stopped selling BART’s blue magnetic-strip tickets in the Café Car and has replaced them with Clipper cards. Accepted by 22 transit agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area, Clipper is reusable and long-lasting. The Clipper cards cost $11 for $11 of preloaded value, and the $3 new card fee has been waived. The reason for this change is that BART is now adding a 50-cent surcharge to each BART ride taken with a blue ticket; there is no surcharge for fares paid with Clipper.
Bay Area Foodies, Mark Your Calendars for Oakland Restaurant Week 2018!
From January 11-21, 2018, Oakland restaurants will celebrate the most diverse restaurant week in the region. Oakland Restaurant Week spans two weekends allowing foodies to take full advantage of dining deals. Participating restaurants will offer prix fixe lunch and/or dinner menus at $10, $20, $30, $40 and $50 price points. Follow Oakland Restaurant Week 2018 on social media by following #ORW18.
We are happy to announce that our secure, at-station bike storage project has been successfully completed! BikeLink eLockers are now installed at 15 stations along the route. This not only allows cyclists to confidently leave their bikes behind in a secure electronic locker, but it also marks a significant accomplishment towards our Bike Access Plan goals.
